Job Description

Amazon is seeking an AI Content Expert II to join its Data Team and contribute directly to the development of next-generation large language models. This role involves producing, annotating, and validating high-quality multimodal training data — including text, images, and video — that supports Amazon’s global AI initiatives.

As an AI Content Expert, you will craft accurate, contextually rich, and grammatically correct text in different tones and styles while adhering to precise content guidelines. You will review and improve work completed by other specialists, perform quality audits, and help refine tools and annotation processes. Each day will involve complex problem-solving, sound judgment, and collaboration with scientists and engineers to improve data quality and model performance.

This position requires a strong command of the English language, familiarity with Dutch and U.S. culture, and comfort handling technical and scientific subject matter. You will work onsite, Monday through Friday, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment where curiosity, precision, and attention to detail are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, annotate, and review training data across multiple modalities (text, image, video).

  • Generate written content following diverse stylistic and creative requirements.

  • Conduct audits and quality control of annotation tasks completed by peers.

  • Communicate effectively with scientists and engineers to refine data guidelines.

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and report tool or workflow issues.

  • Contribute ideas to improve annotation systems and process efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in language annotation, data markup, or data preparation.

  • Excellent English skills (C1 CEFR level or higher).

  • Understanding of Dutch and U.S. cultural context.

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.

  • Familiarity with HTML, XML, and Excel.

  • Basic scripting knowledge (Python, Ruby, or Perl).

  • Experience in computational linguistics, language data processing, or semantics.

  • Proficiency with UNIX commands and standard file formats (JSON, CSV, RTF).
