Job Description
Anthropic is developing safe and reliable AI systems that enhance human capability. The Education Labs team focuses on how AI can accelerate human skill development and create new interaction paradigms between people and AI.
As a Senior Human-AI Collaboration Research Engineer, you’ll design, prototype, and ship production-level features that help users build skills in working with AI. You’ll work as a full-stack engineer, taking ownership from concept to deployment, collaborating with researchers and designers to turn insights into real product experiences.
Responsibilities

Build and ship end-to-end prototypes for human-AI skill development.

Develop and maintain front- and back-end systems (React, TypeScript, Python).

Collaborate with research teams to integrate insights into product design.

Analyze user data to measure capability and growth.

Set technical direction and define quality standards for product experimentation.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

6+ years of full-stack development experience.

Strong front-end (TypeScript, JavaScript, React, HTML/CSS) and back-end (Python, APIs) skills.

Ability to work independently and ship production-quality features.

Passion for human-AI collaboration, skill development, and user empowerment.
Preferred

Background in HCI, learning sciences, or cognitive science.

Experience with LLMs or AI-driven applications.

Strong communication skills and comfort with research-driven environments.
Compensation: $320,000 – $405,000 USD annually
