Google DeepMind

Building safe, responsible artificial intelligence to advance science and benefit humanity.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a full-time role within the Events and Experiences team, dedicated to supporting the GenAI Unit at Google DeepMind during a pivotal stage of growth. The role focuses on planning and delivering internal events that strengthen collaboration, connection, and knowledge sharing across globally distributed teams working on advanced generative AI systems.

You will be embedded directly within the GenAI Unit and work closely with stakeholders across Google DeepMind and Google to design and execute a wide range of events, including town halls, summits, hackathons, leadership meetings, offsites, and milestone celebrations. These events play a critical role in shaping culture, aligning teams, and enabling cross-disciplinary collaboration at scale.

The role involves full ownership of event programs from strategy through execution. This includes responding to stakeholder briefs, translating objectives into impactful event experiences, managing timelines and budgets, coordinating cross-functional working groups, and overseeing logistics, production, and vendor partnerships. You will be responsible for delivering both large-scale events with thousands of participants and smaller, high-impact gatherings with equal attention to detail and quality.

You will create detailed project plans, executive briefs, and presentations, track progress against deliverables, and proactively identify and mitigate risks. Measuring event success through defined metrics and using insights to improve future programs is a core part of the role. All events must be delivered in line with organizational governance, health and safety standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure a secure and inclusive environment.

This role is suited to an experienced events professional who thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments and is comfortable navigating ambiguity. Strong end-to-end project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously are essential. The ideal candidate brings creativity, problem-solving ability, and a collaborative mindset, along with a genuine interest in science, technology, and artificial intelligence.

The position is based in Mountain View, California, with an expectation of working from the office three days per week. Domestic and international travel is required to support global event programs. This is a full-time role offering the opportunity to contribute directly to the internal culture, collaboration, and operational excellence of a world-leading AI research organization.
