Job Summary:
XPENG is a global leader in intelligent mobility, combining cutting-edge AI, autonomous driving, robotics, and electric vehicle innovation. The company is pioneering advancements in smart mobility with projects spanning electric vehicles (EVs), electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, and humanoid robotics. As a Machine Learning Engineer specializing in LLM, AI, and robotics, you will work at the intersection of advanced AI research and real-world applications, helping shape the future of autonomous transportation.
Key Responsibilities:

Fine-tuning and Optimization: Fine-tune pre-trained large language models (LLMs) for specific robotics and autonomous driving scenarios, including natural conversation, API interaction, and system control.

Efficient LLM Development: Develop compact, optimized LLM architectures using techniques such as small model training, weight sharing, and quantization, enabling efficient local deployment on robots and in-vehicle systems.

Multi-modal LLM Systems: Build and maintain robust training and deployment pipelines for both LLMs and multi-modal LLMs that integrate vision, speech, and sensor data for advanced robotics and automotive functions.

Data Management: Design scalable strategies to handle massive datasets, optimize computational resources, and maximize model performance.

Synthetic Data Generation: Innovate new methods for generating synthetic datasets to enhance diversity, reduce bias, and improve real-world performance.

Cross-team Collaboration: Work closely with AI researchers, product managers, and robotics engineers to ensure AI solutions meet both technical and business requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.

Strong academic and practical background in machine learning, NLP, computer vision, or speech/data processing.

Proven hands-on experience with LLMs and their applications.

Proficiency in Python and at least one major deep learning framework (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Strong collaborative skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
Preferred Skills:

Deep understanding of LLM architecture, training processes, and optimization techniques.

Experience with SFT (Supervised Fine-Tuning), RLHF (Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback), prompt engineering, and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation).

Track record of published research, patents, or leadership in AI projects.

Familiarity with quantization methods and deployment of AI systems in resource-constrained environments.
